Government Action

The RMA maintains a strong and proactive outreach program with both provincial and federal governments on legislation and regulatory matters impacting the credit and receivables management sector.

Guided by experienced government relations advisors and led by a dedicated committee of industry professionals, the RMA plays an important role in representing the interests of its membership. For well over a decade, the Association has provided meaningful input on proposed legislative changes and contributed to regulatory discussions across multiple provinces.

Through strategic advocacy, formal consultations, and ongoing dialogue with policymakers, the RMA ensures the voice of the credit sector is informed, balanced, and constructively represented in regulatory decision-making.

The RMA hosts an annual national conference attended by credit and finance professionals from across Canada and the United States. This flagship event brings together industry leaders, subject matter experts, and practitioners to explore emerging trends, regulatory updates, technology advancements, and best practices shaping the credit and receivables management landscape.

In addition, the Association holds its Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is often complemented by networking activities such as a golf tournament or other member engagement events. Throughout the year, RMA may also host webinars, roundtables, and other professional development opportunities designed to keep members informed and connected.

Through these events, the RMA fosters knowledge-sharing, professional growth, and meaningful industry relationships.
